Great image, Dit! ;D ;D Poor Molly. Cats really don't like being laughed at, do they?? ;D
We have a carpeted cat tree. It has one long half-moon seat at the top with a hole in the center. When my cat was more kitten he could jump through the hole. Now being the full grown cat he is, he has to aim just right or he gets stuck. Half up / half down. Riotous laughter ensues. ;D

I suspect there's a hefty vet bill in my near future. Not sure what she did at all, but Mimi has done something to injure her leftright hind leg. (this cat limps inconsistently) And the cornered injured animal thing she had going? That was FREAKY, and I'm used to my cat's temperamental behavior. I was actually about to ask you all if your cats had ever gone absolutely mad like this and what it usually meant, then I got a clue. My former cat never acted like this when he was hurt-he preferred to suffer in silence.

Hope you get Mimi sorted out soon - it's horrible when they're not well. Edit: I found this today while tidying my files - I'd forgotten I had it.

I hope it's nothing too serious with Mimi. May she be up and pouncing on your feet in no time!

I don't think it is anything too serious, her leg's not swollen and she's not yowling at me if I go near it this morning like she was 7 hours ago. She's still not walking correctly. Actually, she's really not walking at all if she can avoid it. The vet up the road doesn't take walk-ins until this afternoon though...and I don't have a car, so I gotta stay close to home. The last vets I used in Ohio did not believe me that my little angel is very VERY evil. Or they thought they could handle another temperamental cat. Looking forward to how this one goes. I was world's most embarrassed pet owner last time. ;D Nice picture dit. I think James would approve.

When I was a kid, we had a husky - 125lb. husky! Our vet gave us tranquilizers for him before visits. We followed his instructions to the letter, but he was as wide awake as if we had given him caffeine! Surprised vet - you betcha'!

Mimi last time had to be tranqed so they could get her on the scale to take her weight!
But first the vets let her out of the carrier, then couldn't get her back in, so they got the welding gloves...and still couldn't get her back in, or near enough to tranq her there. So they left the welding gloves with me, left the room, and she calmed down just enough that I got her back in the carrier with only a few minor scratches and one fairly large one so she could be tranqed. I did this without the gloves-they were a bit too big for me.
I'm a bit worried she'll do the same this time actually. I don't want her to hurt herself worse by freaking out. Maybe I'll just tell the vets THAT story. But she's a bit older now, maybe she's mellowed out a bit? Yeah...doubt it.

When one of my cats was sick, he was much calmer about getting into his carrier and going through the examination. He didn't feel good enough to be a pain in the a$$. Perhaps Mimi will just go with the flow... then again... Good luck!

Perhaps Mimi will just go with the flow... then again... Good luck! Yes, and maybe I'll win the lottery today too while we're dreaming. If anything I think she'll be more freaked out because she's hurt. She genuinely scared me last night-that was the worst I've ever seen her and I didn't know the reason at first.

Watch out for the flaming pink dinosaurs on the streets as you go to the vet's office. Weather report claims intermittent coffee with creamer clouds this pm. Oh, that's right, we still live in the real world. *sends winning lottery ticket out west* Good luck with Mimi!!

I think the neighborhood with the pink dinosaurs is a bit northeast of downtown actually. Or maybe I'm thinking of a mural on an old warehouse building.

Mimi's home. Whatever she did to herself was minor enough that it should heal on its own in a few days. So since she was there she got her vaccines updated instead-she was about due anyways.
Oh, her nails also got a trim. The vet mentioned this to me four times. Apparently that was a high priority once she was sedated. ;D

Good to hear that it wasn't anything serious, Meimichan! ;D My friend has just got herself a new kitten, who looks just like a little Fusker!! I only have a (very bad) photo on my phone at the moment, but I'll post it as soon as I have time to transfer it to my computer He's a really sweet little kitten. He fell asleep in my lap the first time I was visiting them this week

"Is this mini watermelon all for me?" ;D ;D AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW! I was just thinking we needed more kitty pictures here. Or maybe that's just me. But no Thorin, I think she got the bottle of pop for you! Sheesh, silly cat. My idiot recuperating cat tried jumping into MOH's office chair...and fell back down. Then she went for the rocking chair, made it, and took a nap. (no pictures, just posting an update)

Does Mimi appear to be getting better? If she made it into the rocking chair, then I guess so. Thorin decided that he didn't want the watermelon after all. His brother, Hamish however, did lick the little piece I gave him. Then went back and licked it again. He liked the water part of the melon! More pics - definitely... Waiting for chicken... please excuse the mess

Yeah, she's getting better. She took a good chunk out of MOH's foot the other day, so we figure she's on the mend. She's still limping, but not nearly as badly and I've pretty much given up on stopping her from jumping on the furniture. I was going to post some pictures of semi-recent visiting kitties, but PB's being a pain. Again. I beat it into submission. Here's Sami, a long skinny crazy kitten. And Gypsy, who given half a choice would like to curl up somewhere quiet. She's about 5 years old, I think, and is one of the sweetest kitties I've ever met. My parents came to visit and they brought their cats with them back in April. I think the cats remembered me when I had to go to Ohio a couple weeks ago. Heck, I think Sami wanted to come home with me! For their visit, Mimi was locked in the bathroom and after they left she would not have anything to do with us for several hours. She HATES other cats. My kitchen table's a watercolor studio right now if that's any consolation. Don't worry, my place is almost always a cluttered mess by default.

Sami & Gypsy are adorable!! Is Sami wearing claw covers?? My house is normally barely controlled chaos. However, I think we have gremlins that are making extra stuff at night and leaving it all over the place.

Our two have a couple of cat trees that they use incessantly. They also have a couple cardboard scratchers on the floor. I bought them a scratcher in the shape of a sofa and doused it with catnip. We've had it three years. They've never once put a claw to it. They sit on it...like you would a sofa. They see it as a piece of furniture and won't scratch on it. Crazy cats! ;D

I'm swiftly coming to the conclusion that all black and white cats are, in their own way, ASBO cats. Fusker, of course, was the king of the ASBO cats, with a fearsome reputation that spread far and wide. MF's cat Summer, also known as special!cat because she's a bit thick, has far too many sharp bits, and you can never be sure when she'll use them. She also freaks out at household appliances - especially the plug on the food mixer and my vegetable peeler (she'll sit next to me hissing and spitting when I'm peeling vegetables) - will get the hump with you for no readily apparent reason and sometimes tries to bite when you stroke her. That's just funny though, because she doesn't seem to have any teeth. Of course, when a cat tries to bite you and you laugh at it, it just looks terribly affronted. Summer's son Lightning is generally quite a pleasant chap, though he does a runner every time a stranger walks through the door. However, he's a very keen hunter and on Saturday I had to chase him out with dead furry things (and on one occasion a a not-completely-dead furry thing) four times. I know it's just feline nature, but he does bring home a lot of little corpses! Yesterday I witnessed some cat-on-cat anti-social behaviour though. My little friend Fuskalike (a cat that doesn't seem to be particularly vicious but does like to be left alone) wandered into the conservatory because it was pouring with rain. He doesn't live here and he's not allowed in, so I shooed him towards the top of the hot tub where he likes to sit because it's under cover. He sat down and got comfy and he was so sad and pathetic looking that I ran for a camera. When I came back, his markings had miraculously changed! He'd also got younger and fatter. Another tuxedo cat - this one with half a 'reverse Hitler' (white on black) moustache - had bullied him off the hot tub and sent him running to the bottom of the garden to stand in the rain. Fuskalike really was most put out, and stood at the far end of the garden looking even more sad And of course, once he had the hot tub to himself, Half-Hitler didn't want it any more and disappeared in the opposite direction. And as a friend pointed out last night, Postman Pat's cat Jess is black and white too - and that one's always getting into trouble...

Three of my four cats are black and white and they are all little buggers. One of them, Binky, is right now sleeping in my suitcase on top of my clean laundry. It took her exactly .5 seconds to hop in there after I walked away from it. (Guess I shouldn't have left the lid open.) Binky's sister Pirate is always looking for trouble to get into, mainly chasing our youngest cat Valmont. And Valmont is still pretty much a kitten (just over one year old) so he likes to wreak havoc where ever he goes. He especially likes it when you rub his belly but only so that he can attack your arm when you are least expecting it. Our other cat, Epinone, is a shaded silver Persian and she is just a princess. One of the sweetest cats I have ever had. I suspect it is because she is not black and white.

I just misread Valmont as Vomit and thought what an excellent name, I should change Summer's name to Vomit! ;D

I have good news for once. My 15 year old cat has been a diabetic for the past 6 years. My favorite vet sold his business and its been 2 years that I've had his blood checked. It was 250. That is good for a cat. It dose has not been changed in that time. His range before was in the upper 300's. Now I have a kit to take care of him. I already give him 2 shots a day. This other stuff takes coordination, something I don't have. When I go on my trip my friends will come down just 1 mile to take care of him. I don't think this is going to go over well. I got out of there paying $122 which is great because I didn't have the extra 160 for the blood panel. so good and bad. t

It's definitely good news that your cat's diabetes is better. I hope he or she does well with your friends while you're away. It can be such a stressful time. Does your get along well with your friends? I know that will help ease its stress levels. Good luck!

I feel the need for some more kitty pictures and my cat was kind enough to oblige me with some ridiculous poses recently. Mimi does not approve of this heat wave. (yes, the A/C was on) Yes, a bin full of shoes is the most comfy place for a nap EVAR. "Get away from my bed!"
