Nat, are those little chocolate covered cookies like the ones you sent me? Fantastic little gems!! ;D ;D Yes, they are! I just had hutspot, which is typically Dutch. It's a mixture of carrots, potatoes and a tiny bit of onions. With it I had a veggy sausage and vanilla custard with chocolate balls as dessert.

I am eating (taking?) some spicy parsnip soup. I love parsnips, so when I saw the cans of this soup, I went a bit mad and bought four of them No honest complaints - it is nice, but seems very like thin, rather expensive korma curry sauce now that I'm eating it. Oh well.

But the serious question remains -- did you cut the carrots into circles or lengthwise? And did you notice flavour differences based on your cutting technique? ;D

I've cut them the way I've always cut them - first through the lenght and then circles, so they're sort of half moons. ;D

Max Strength Lemsip. With honey, Ribena & a shot of whiskey. Let's hope it does its job!
Otherwise I might need someone to find that Hensip for me.

Right now, I'm in danger of eating an entire packet of Truffel Kruidnoten, that Nat sent over a couple of weeks back. They are the yummiest thing...
in the World! just at the moment and, unless someone takes the packet away, there won't be any left at all!
They're little spicy biscuits coated in white chocolate & dusted with cocoa. Yes, I know these were in the present for my friend, but I swapped them with the chocolate coated ones and I'm VERY glad I did! Thank you Nat!

I have some home made sausages under the grill at this moment. Not sure what they will be like, or if I will make 2012 Chris made them on a "sausage course". Yes, I know.... why? Whatever keeps them happy. Accompanying the delightful bangers, I have good old Coleman's Mustard, and mashed potato made with cream and butter. I am telling myself it's fine to give myself a coronary over Christmas Time. Beverage: Old Peculiar. Yum (If I don't post after tomorrow, please presume I am deceased)

But I can sort of understand. My husband has a tendency to be a lethal chef as well. He's getting better though.

Especially the pubs ;D A few jars at The Market Tavern does me good. I'm about 3 mile out of the City Centre, near Hetton (if you know it - don't go, it's naff) and work at Meadowfield. Durham = Marvellous City.

About to have my third glass of wine. Not sure what is with my husband tonight but he's really irritating the hell out of me. Or maybe I'm just in a bad mood,, I don't know. I did have a glass of bubbly I actually liked tonight, first time for everything! Spanish brut, it was fairly cheap and really good. Thank you World Market, working next door to you is also not so good for my wallet. I should probably go have a glass of Sprite instead, right?

Three glasses of wine? You drink a hell of a lot more wine than I do, but I don't feel ANYTHING after three glasses of wine, by which I DON'T mean that I have fainted and don't feel anything anymore, but I don't notice I have drunk alcohol! Interesting.

I;m not consuming any right now, but I found a store not far from where I'm going to live in Maryland that sells London Pride six packs for 9.99.Pretty good deal. There's also a pub on Pennsylvania Ave that has the English flair that has it . I will be visiting places I've never been instead of the Smithsonian, National Gallery of Art etc. I'm going to live just east of DC in Bowie.
