Wonderful news. I think he stand a pretty good chance of actually winning this one as well.
I can just imagine him picking up the award, turning to the camera and saying: "Jezza, Hammond, this is what a BAFTA looks like." ;D

Well done James. He should win, my only reservation is that Gareth Malone and his singing extraveganzas, pinched the award once before. I feel the award should be James' this time though.

Oh no he's up against Heston Blumenthal. Thats so annoying haha. I love Heston, he made part of Lewis Carroll's world become a reality 'drink me drink'-minus shrinking! But I love James, and Toy Stories was amazing... Well, aslong as either of those two win, Im happy for them. They both deserve it, they're both imaginative & creative, and create original shows. But Heston's won a high position in the best resteraunts in the world 'awards' recently.. so maybe this should go to James. He does deserve it, its about time he was nominated for something!

Congrats James. Well deserved. I always think BAFTA is prone to overlook something as good as Toy Stories in favour of something a bit more arty and pompous, so I'm very pleased to see it being recognised. Glad to see Being Human in there too - another fantastic BBC programme.

So happy for James that he got nominated. Let's hope the judges get it right for him.

Well pleased with this news (I didn't see this thread when I mentioned the news on the Toy Stories thread!) and I hope it does well. It'll be a tough call because The Choir has been pretty unbeatable in the world of awards, but just to be nominated in the most important of all the British media awards is fantastic ;D

I am loving the blue cufflinks that match the lining of his jacket. Is that the Paul Smith evening suit that he once wrote about? Have the BAFTAS been recorded already? If so, James looks very smug, but it is hard to interpret what that might mean.

They are from 25.05.2010 so it may have been a lead up event maybe. They are this year.

BAFTA Craft Awards, I suspect (the 'backroom' BAFTAs). The TG team was nominated for two of the technical awards but missed out on both, boo Are the cufflinks 'fourer' Legos?

Now, I know that many of you ladies rave about James in a tux, but yet again, looking at these pics, the only thoughts that spring to my mind are
a. How can a man make what is obviously a very expensive suit look so, well, rumpled? b. Why does he always look as if someone's forced him to wear it against his will?
Just my interpretation, but he never looks quite comfortable in formal clothes.

Snort, now that made me laugh, it wouldn't be James if he looked tidy, poor man ;D still he has a rather nice cheeky look about him. And wy reckon your right.

Because the chances are that's precisely how it happens! ;D Nice pics, though. Those cufflinks are so cool!

I'm kinda with Dit on this one, although the pics are good I always prefer the more natural looking James, he just never seems at ease in formal clothes. It's as if he can't wait to get home and take them off (LOL! - just realised how that last line might read, it wasn't intended "that" way - honest! )
