Thank you for the run down Dit - it was interesting to read about what happens on the day. I love the fact that they are all so quick witted and funny. Like everyone else, I wish we could see it on a DVD sometime.
It was a shame you weren't able to get the pictures you hoped for. I hope James is OK - tiredness gets to us all from time to time.

Glad you've enjoyed the description, I hope it's helped people imagine what it's like.
One thing I didn't mention - as well as Richard being more slight and petit than I'd realised - Jeremy is actually not at all "fat" as he's always going on about. Yes, like many middle-aged men he's got a bit of a "pot" at the front (though even that seemed smaller) but he was wearing a beautifully-cut jacket and from behind is exactly in proportion for a tall, slim guy. He must just be overconscious of his tummy.
Further edit: This afternoon I was hanging up the Captain Slow T-shirt I bought and glanced at the label inside - under the Top Gear logo it says
These T-shirts were tested on animals. They didn't fit.

It was supposed to come out this weekend and there were references to James getting clattered at an awards ceremony and getting a bit indiscreet (which is a theory I've been propounding for some time, based on the evidence of him rather floridly hugging inappropriate ladies). The latest is that he's supposed to have told the (female) reporter that he only has two pairs of pants.

I got a google alert on James that had a link to an article in a British magazine. Sorry but for the life of me I can not remember what the magazine was. Anyway, it was at the comedy awards and the interviewer asked James to tell "something that we don't know about you" and he responded that he only had two pairs of pants and went on to discuss the color of said pants and underwear in general. I'll see if I can find the link and post it later if I can find it.
