I got back in this evening and remembered why I'd wanted to be around when all my friend's crap stuff was taken away in the van.
The back door was unlocked, the fridge door was wide open (fortunately the one I keep drinks in, not the food one, but it's still been going full pelt to try to keep the entire conservatory cold!) and both cats were shut in my bedroom. They are not happy either.
I WANT MY NICE LODGER BACK!

Aww Jacqui *huggles* at least you don't have to put up with it from family.. Aww *hugs back* No i don't - wouldn't stand for it frankly! I strongly believe people who have a "holier than thou attitude" should take a look in the mirror and stop calling the kettle black!!!!

Grrr... Why does the London transport network have to go to hell (figuratively, not literally - it would actually have to be running to get there) on the weekend? I can't for the life of me figure out how I'm supposed to get to Paddington in two hours when all the bits of the tube I need are closed. I know there are replacement buses, but they aren't going to get me where I need to go either, at least, not without several changes of tube that don't really make any sense. Grr

The State of North Carolina has announced that it is $4 billion in debt. So in order to "help out" in tough times all State employees (that includes teachers and support staff) will be giving back .5% of their paycheck this month. This just SUCKS!!!! That money was going to pay for a Spanish 2 class at the local community college for the 19 yr. old son. Think POSITIVE. Think POS Really trying hard to think POS. Thx for the chance to whine. -j

*sighs* Actually not really a rant and rave. Bit of a moan and bleat really We had freakish storms again yesterday, a bit unexpected really, as its a bit late in the year for them, going into winter here. Anyway, quite terrifying, the power lines in several streets around me were knocked down/severed by trees and LIVE and sparking etc... I was at work and we were all looking at the sparks and poor people trying to reverse their cars back away from the live wires. Some staff couldn't get to their cars because of it and had to find alternative transport home. Some had their cars smashed by falling tree branches/debris from the storm. One poor man DIED with debris which flew and smashed through the window of his first floor office in Surfers Paradise, hitting him and injuring him, though they say he might have died of a heart attack due to the shock, I think its undetermined so far. I had no power at home for a day and night and a couple of my appliances have been fried. Everything is a mess, TV doesn't work because of the aerial damage, mess and tree branches and debris everywhere. But that is nothing compared to what happened to the poor man. I'm fine, but a bit depressed by it all but thats life and time heals all wounds *she says* EDIT 23/05/09 I found a Youtube about it...its still bad tonight though, not as bad, but very squally... www.youtube.com/watch?v=nqldK3MfqJo
