I don't communicate with most of the family on my father's side. Many of them are really horrible people. I won't go into the details because they are just too vast to type them all here. I just keep my distance and don't talk with them unless I absolutely have to. And I won't even go into why my sister is estranged from the family. It is just an unbelievable nightmare where she is concerned! Luckily, I am close with my mom's side of the family, I love my mother in law, and have some wonderful friends that I am closer to than anyone. Thank Goodness for them.

As I think I've said before, thank God you can choose your friends, as it's such a shame you can't choose your family. Yours do seem a particularly odious bunch, adrianmay, and yours not much better, DMC. As they say, 'Where there's a will, there's a queue of relatives'. I am sick to my back teeth of moaning, whinging, people who sigh heavily in your face when you are trying to help them; especially those who think I have no work to do and think I am sitting doing my nails or something waiting for them to call me; well hello i have a back log of work to!! They really do pi@@ me off Thanks for listening reading ;D I feel much better now! I hope today is going much better for you than yesterday, jacqui! I'm so glad i don't have the "family" over the xmas hols, i sooo don't miss my m-in-law! Just for the record I have a full set of ten nails in fact the typo was probably due to the fact I had them sharpened... specially... for the next person at work who dares ask me another stupid question!!! Today was better.... a bit.... well until it got to 9am Is it friday yet!?

I empathize Daisy, I truly do. I have chronic pain with my leg and as a result of the connective tissue disease I have and I know that pain can be very debilitating! No one should have to feel pain especially during the holidays! I very much hope that you feel better soon.

Ooh Daisy I hope you're feeling better today. Is that baby taking up too much space? He/she needs to leave some room for your internal organs, the greedy thing!

sl-- I ordered that from Amazon several weeks ago and it's supposed to be delivered tomorrow, in the US region format. Maybe try them.
But my rant for Best Buy is....don't accept orders for things you don't have in stock. I ordered a tablet from them 2 weeks before Christmas, it hasn't been shipped, they don't know when it will be shipped, they can't/won't cancel the order because they don't know when it will be shipped, and their website now says it's out of stock. Never again.

Holy Moly what the heck. That's an awful lot of fireworks. Who's going to clean up the mess? By the way what is that little silver car parked there?

You mean the Opel across the street or the car on my side of the street? They're both gone now though.... ;D
Yea, well, that's Dutchies.... And now it's even worse, since it's raining, so everything is sticking on the ground now. Therefore I LOATH New Year's Eve, I bet you can understand. I'd love to experience a New Year's Eve in England, where there's fireworks at one place only for all people to see there if you want to go there. I think most people though will at least take away the big fireworks.

I'm going to rant and rave about something you in the UK call the licence fee. I don't know if it's an automatic payroll deduction or what. That's how you get your good programming. Here Public Broadcasting has to beg every month for money to put on programs from around the world including the UK. We just had the 1st episode of Downton Abbey 2. Very good. When PBS does their begging it lasts a month and then in a couple more months some more. I can never afford to donate and feel bad about it because I watch Spooks. So those whiney people out there complaining about Top Gear need to realize that money the show makes BBC money helps pay for the other programs also. Just got back from the dentist, in pain and mad. Sorry.

I want to vent about something a little bit and this was the best place I could think of to do it. A few months ago I joined a Face Book page called James May Fan Base - Captain Slow Lovers Only. I post occasionally, mostly I just read what others post. I had seen the JMB mentioned over there before but didn't really pay any attention to it. Well, over the last few days there was a discussion which involved the JMB. It started out when someone said that they come here to steal pics but that they don't post here because they had had a bad experience. A few more people chimed in and said that they had bad experiences here as well. I was going to just ignore it but it got nasty and there was some general name calling. So I posted that I had had nothing but positive experiences here and that I didn't understand why people had the experiences that they say they did because the people here just aren't like that. I also said that I felt that name calling wasn't necessary. If people had bad experiences here, ok they are entitled to their opinions. But to generalize about everybody on the board based on a few members and to start name calling I just felt, was out of line. I reminded them that by doing so, they were creating the type of atmosphere over there that they said they don't like over here. Ultimately, the nasty stuff was deleted. I guess ignore it and it will go away is the idea behind that. The whole thing just frustrated me and I needed to vent about it. I love this place and thanks to all of you who make it what it is. ;D

It's terrible they say the nasty things but then why still post over here if they don't like it. I personally despise Facebook in general and much prefer the much smaller amount of people here where we get along and speak our own thoughts knowing it's not personal.

First: I don't FaceBook , I like Twitter better. Second: As someone who's only been here a few months, I have no idea what they are talking about over there. Everybody has been absolutely lovely to me here.

I guess ignore it and it will go away is the idea behind that. The whole thing just frustrated me and I needed to vent about it. I love this place and thanks to all of you who make it what it is. ;D Ah the joys of the interweb! ;D I normally keep quiet about these sorts of things, but today I just felt like saying a little something about this. I haven’t seen the posts but I did have a brief look at the FB group (as you do) and as I suspected, a member or two on there we unfortunately have had to ban from JMB in the past, or they left of their own accord. Since Ly, Inky, Lew and I started JMB in 2007, we have banned very few members, perhaps 2 or 3. We only resorted to this after repeated warnings to the person about their posts and many complaints from other members about them. Its not a nice thing to do and we try to be flexible and relaxed on here, its one of the many reasons why we started the board. But we still have to uphold Proboards T&Cs, etc. etc. etc. tis why we have certain rules and hidden threads! Anyhoo that’s all really, just wanted to put in my two cents. People love you, people hate you, that’s the interweb for you (and life!), you can rant and rave and get peeps talking/angry/upset/any emotion you want, but you know what, the thing we most wanted to achieve with this board was to give people a laugh!!! Thats the TG spirit... I may have pinched a pic, sorry and thanks
