I know Top Gear's different Dutch, but when I have been to other recordings they tend to do a few shows at a time possibly work on 2. Perhaps this is what is going to happen. I really don't have a clue, just summising. D.D., where does Top Gear film? Thanks. [not that I can go, barring some miracle. The waiting list is 4 yrs long]

The marine tracker is great. Have checked out the site and it only gives details of the boat not the crew thank goodness, so James will be left in peace to concentrate on the job in hand when his turn comes to Crew the boat. Does that mean he's going to be on the boat?

I think we can say that James will be in the race www.portsmouth.co.uk/news/TV-stars-leave-Portsmouth-for.4206090.jpTV stars Nick Knowles and James May are to compete in tomorrow's Round Britain Powerboat Race. They will be among 47 teams setting off from Gunwharf Quays and speeding along the seafront in Southsea. And Mr Knowles, who presents shows including DIY SOS, was in Portsmouth yesterday ahead of the event. He said: 'When I was invited to be in the Garmin crew for the race I simply knew I couldn't turn down the opportunity. 'It's the ultimate powerboat adventure and a real test of endurance. 'We've got a great team together and the Garmin Racing Boat is an incredibly powerful boat capable of 90 knots if the sea is calm. It is perfectly designed for the conditions of the race. I'm ready to just get going and see how well we can do.' The 10-day event promises to test the physical and mental strength of those taking part, across eight gruelling legs. Mr Knowles will be taking part in the first leg of the race, along with Top Gear cameraman Iain May, who is skippering team Garmin for the race. Described as the Mount Everest of powerboat races, Round Britain is the toughest event for powerboat drivers anywhere in the world. The race is designed to test boats and crews to their limit, with some legs of the race being well over 200 nautical miles through notoriously difficult seas. The race will see the teams cover 1,600 nautical miles as they pit their wits against each other. Each day the teams will rise at 6am to race to different parts of the country before the dash for the finish line in Portsmouth on Monday, June 30 at Southsea Castle Mr Knowles, whose team will be competing in the 900 horse power RB2 class, added: 'I'm looking forward to it but I'm also a bit apprehensive because I've been told if you crash at 90 knots when you hit the water it feels like you've driven into concrete.' Mike Lloyd, race organiser and former powerboat racer, said: 'Powerboat racing, especially offshore, is one of the most thrilling sports in the world both to participate in and to watch and one of the few marine adventure sports left available to UK sportsmen and women.'

Is James doing it for the entire 10 days?
Doesn't he have TG commitments, though, next week? Or are they not filming episode 2 next week?

Well the only pic that shows all the crew clearly is the one numbered 5319. And James is not there. So maybe he's gone down to Portsmouth for the start to do some other filming, but not taking part in the race, like he told us. Sorry, DD, I know you want to believe that he IS in the race and I want to believe HIM!
