I wasn't sure where to put this question and this thread seemed to be the most appropriate place. I'm sure this question will seem dumb to some of you but that is ok. I know that I am not technically inclined. Hope I explain the problem clearly enough. Here goes: when I try to use the quote function, I click on it and up pops (Well not the actual box but the brackets with the word "quote" in them.) I then put the cursor in between the two center brackets and hit Ctrl V to paste what I want to quote. But when I do that it automatically attaches to the end the following after a space: Read more: jamesmayboard.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=photos&action=display&thread=3080&page=47#ixzz1G2JHWnFkOr something similar depending on where I copied the quote from. I then always go into the quote and delete this so that it doesn't appear in the quote when I post. I have noticed that other people do not have this in their quotes so do you guys just not have this coming up when you use the quote function or are you deleting it too? Or (more likely) am I doing something wrong to cause this to happen? It isn't really a problem as such but it is annoying to have to go back and edit. Thanks for reading this and helping me out if you can.

Yes it's been doing the same thing to me. Six hour difference. Do you know where the server is?

Looks like it's working for the moment. ETA....I spoke too soon.

I noticed that yesterday and PMd lew about it. I thought it was just me, so it's some relief to know I'm not going mad! The odd thing is that it seems to be random, so I'm wondering if it's some sort of virus - hope not!

I've just posted this on the December thread - some of us are having problems. Could someone look into it, please? Many thanks.
I'm having problems with posting - I thought I was sorted but if I try to post I'm being told my message has timed out and to try again, even when I've only been moments. Most of the time I've remembered to save my message, but occasionally..... Grrr!

Is anyone else having trouble logging in? I can on my phone but not on a PC...? I checked the main site, they've got a new server, gave it the same IP address as something else, and it made a huge mess. Guess hooking up the new server's not going so well. Probably what's been causing all the other issues. Ah well, should hopefully work itself out eventually. I thought my internet had died again for a bit there, but Twitter was still working(now there's a first).

Help! Don't know if this is proboards, or if it's happening to more than me, but it's only happening on the JMB. Started about 2 hours ago. Every time I go to a new page, this comes up I've clicked repeatedly on Cancel and the red cross but it still comes up. Obviously I'm not going to fill in any details or click OK. I've googled their website and they appear to be a legit social communication site, a bit like Linkedin, but I've never had any contact with them. Any ideas, anyone?

Ah, 'Have you tried switching it off and switching it on again?', sound advice. I'm just chasing up a load of stuff so I'll finish off then try that. Cheers, Vivienne!

the rule of thumb I've been told is to turn off and wait 10 seconds and restart. Usually works for me, glad it did for you.

Dit. My somewhat overly paranoid software engineer hubby said, and I quote because I don't know exactly what he means, "Don't trust it".
He says goggle the server error name and see if anyone else has run into it.
That was probably not helpful but worth a try.

I had a quick look to ascertain whether it was a legit firm/program, which it is, but when I dug deeper there were some complaints on forums in 2009 and July 2011 about the exact thing that was happening to me. There was no suggested explanation or solution, though.
The problem at least seems to have gone - for now!
