Very disappointed with F1 today. If Alonso isn't capable of passing his team mate in his "faster car" then he isn't worthy of winning the race. It just really lowers the tone all this team orders rubbish and I hope Ferrari gets more than a stupid fine for it. Was a good race up until then too. But on a lighter note, these two should have their own TV series. news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/formula_one/8851478.stm ;D

Today's F1 made me very cross. The result was infuriating. Massa deserved the win, Alonso's an arse and yet again the FIA has been proved to stand for Ferrari International Assistance (credit to Eddie Jordan at some point in about 1804) and has escaped with a slap on the wrist for what was a blatant breach of the rules. It's true that the rules about team orders might need revisiting, but while they stand, they need to be observed. Fining a company like Ferrari is like punishing me by only letting me drink 740ml of a 750ml bottle of wine.

Couldn't agree more Wy and Ly. Ferrari give the F1 game a bad name. As for Alonso.....I can't do with the whinging little git. I like Massa but he strikes me as being a spineless little dweeb too. If I had been told to get out of the way when I was leading, I would have responded in language that not even the t'interweb would allow

Long time since anyone's posted anything, or am I in the wrong place? I'm not usually able to watch qualifying but today was v exciting. I was expecting to see the usual suspects lining up - then came young Hulkenberg stealing the show - looks like he's got quite a future. For the first time in a long time I really really want a particular driver to win and want two others not to. I won't mention the ones I don't want as it ain't sporting but I will say - COME ON MARK!!!!!! After all this time in F1 he has a chance and I'd love to see him achieve the ultimate goal.

Quallies was very good today and well done Hulkenberg on pole Excellent strategy from Williams. Don't think he will hang on to the lead for long tomorrow though. It will all be kicking off behind him, Vettel v. Webber and Alonso V. Lewis Should be fun! I'm off to Edinburgh to a dog show at sparrows fart in the morning but I'm heading home ASAP to make sure I see it live

How can a Williams be soooooooooo much quicker than the rest! He did it with a lap to spare too, so it wasnt just a drying track!

Congrats to Red Bull. Now I don't know who I want to win anymore, except praying for a miracle that Alonso/Vettel and Webber drop off the track. I'm beginning to not like Webber so much. His hard done by second driver whine is annoying. But then I don't like Vettel as he doesn't really deserve it this year and Alonso....well. Any chance they can all be disqualified leaving Hamilton to win it and Button as runner up? ;D

Unlikely methinks - Mr Crumbs would endorse your preferences! I like Mark as it feels like he's more GB than our own lads. His lives in our County and in the local press he comes over as a genuine chap who helps out etc etc. Some of my friends have met him at charity things and say he comes over very well.
I don't think many want Alonso after the farce earlier this year. And Vettel? He's got plenty of time to make his mark. In truth, I don't think either of them have covered themselves in glory this season - but I still want Mark to win! Jenson winning again would've been great too - 'tis a shame.

An 'easy' 1st corner should allow the race to develop at its own pace - and not have a massive crash straight away! A great front 3 rows, and Lewis MUST WIN, Eyebrowman MUST be at least 2nd, if Vettel is leading and Webber is 2nd, he MUST pull over and let him win! There will be some very agressive strategies out there tomorrow! (and some nice boats tied up too!)

Can't wait for the race but then, once it's over, what are we going to do until next year I'm praying for Lewis to get away the best and for monobrow's engine to give up the ghost I can pray.................... I think if push comes to shove and Lewis is in a position to help Webber, he will. Perfect end to the season, whatever happens

I'd have loved Mark to win it, but Vettel's reaction when he won had me in absolute bits. And that podium - with the two previous champions - was a lovely sight to see. And best of all, the Lisping Monobrowed Donkey Murderer (copyright Jeremy Clarkson) DIDN'T win.
Fantastic drives from Jenson and Lewis, but my hero of the day is Vitaly Petrov ;D

Couldn't agree more. I wish it could have gone Webber's way but if the choice was between the cheating Spaniard and Vettel, then I'm chuffed to pieces and much like you Wy, I was in tears for him when he came on the team radio. It was a great race to go out on, lots of what ifs etc, and lovely to have the GB boys either side on the podium. Only negative is what the hell do I do now until it all starts again next year. ;D Oh, and did anyone else feel when Webber said yep he'd be back doing it with Red Bull next year, he didn't mean it?

I've always liked Sebastian Vettel - he seems to be such a lovely bloke. I'm really pleased for him. The new points system has certainly shaken things up a bit, hasn't it?! ;D

The right result in the end. Vettel has been the quickest all year, but let himself down too often - and he deserved to win it. Pleased Eyebrowman didnt win - and having a go at the Renault driver at the end was just childish! If Alonso was quicker, he should have got past. He wasnt - he couldn't touch him! A good days racing, but only because of the 340 permutations of the championship outcome! Watching it unravel was very entertaining. If it hadnt been the last race of the year though, it would just have been average, with a good McLaren 2nd and 3rd.

I agree flatin5th. If it hadn't been the last race of the season with four drivers in with a chance of the WDC, it would have been an ordinary race. However, there were so many possible outcomes that I was glued to the tele from start to finish! I really hoped Mark would pull off the Championship but Vettel winning was OK by me. Anyone other than monobrow was a hit at my house Like Wy and Lymaze I had a lump in my throat when I heard Seb's reaction to realising he had won and the podium was fantastic. New WDC flanked by the last two. Roll on the new season PS there were some rather lovely boats tied up in the marina

Heads up for all you motorsport fans. There is a documentary on ITV at 10.30 tonight about the playboy heroes of yesteryear, James Hunt and Barry Sheene. Sheeney was my first motorsports crush My mate Dave knew his dad very well and remembers Barry when he was a little boy helping his old man out at the race meetings. A quote from Steve Parrish (one of his best mates) about Barry when asked how he prepared for a race "28 fags and a sh*g if he could get one." ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Oh wo is me and all my mates who sat round the Tv rooting for Mark. I agree that Alonso's loss was a good thing - a very good thing. Vettel, whilst he was fortunate with the tactics (or poor tactics), drove a blinder - well done him. We're just concerned he will dominate for years and the fantastic excitement of the last couple of seasons may be a thing of the past. I do hope not. I also can't believe Mark will stay in the same team as Vettel......

crumbs - I think no matter which team Webber is in, he will always be the 'number 2' driver. Even if he went to Ferrari as rumours are suggesting, he would be second to Alonso. I think watching Vettel win this year will just make him hungrier next year. He really is a great guy and deserves the title before his F1 days are over!

Race and if you hit one another so be it. When did F1 become such a nanny state? Oh and top the car up to the top with petrol next time and make sure you put the bloody wheel nut on before letting them leave the pits. Jeez. Enjoyed it though. ;D

Ferrari I had to chuckle as the wheel came off Jensons wagon Then I said a few choice words. As for not fuelling Lewis's car to the brim......Are they paying same as us up north? £1.379 a litre

I pay £1.29.7 per litre in my part of 'up t' north.' Perhaps that's another advantage of living up here.

When I fill up it does rather feel as if I'm paying around £1,349 per litre rather than £1.37.9!

I usually look out for the cheapest petrol I can find, it still puts a hole in the purse though. Gone are the days of filling up a tank for a fiver.

You two are lucky then. My local garage (only others are 5 - 8 miles away) have just reduced the diesel to £1.379. If I go to Morecambe (the metropolis of the area ;D ) it's £1.349 but getting there wipes out any saving
