I am a professionally trained musician. I am mainly a singer, but I also play medieval wind instruments, some piano (badly), and organ (even worse). Right now I sing with a professional chorus in DC called The City Choir of Washington. At the present time, we are rehearsing for a concert at Wolf Trap Farm Park called Broadway ROCKS! where we will be performing with the National Symphony Orchestra. It is so different from what we normally do, what with the wonderful rock music (Bohemian Rhapsody, Proud Mary, Seasons of Love, YMCA, etc.) we're learning. But it is FUN! Because we are doing several Queen selections, scuttlebutt on the street says that the other May (Brian) will be there to play along. God! Dr. Brian May! I'll have a coronary!

Big bump!!

I was thinking we had a thread for things that we've made, but either I'm mistaken or I just can't find it. Anywho ... I've shared pics of some of the jewelry I've made before and it has been suggested by another board member that I share the latest album of photos of jewelry that I've sent to a friend's shop for sale. She has sold two pieces so far and has asked me for more of the button bracelets that I've made.

Several of the photos are not the greatest. I'm still learning how to photograph jewelry. And there are several repeats and different angle shots.

I would really love any feedback anyone has.

Nice work, DMC. That green aventurine is beautiful. I've dabbled a little in jewelry photography, and I think the hardest part is the lighting so you don't get a lot of reflections and/or washed out pics. The pros use a light box, which is basically a framework covered with a lightweight cloth and lights directed at the box from various directions. They aren't terribly expensive but you can also make your own.

Also, keep your background one solid color, not a black thing lying on a white background. I think your camera was struggling with the white balance in a couple of shots there.
