I'm in a bit of a nosey mood today, and was wondering what everybody does when they're not either a) here or b) at work, wherever that may be. I spend a lot of my time collecting - although a little less right now, because I can't really afford to. The big kid in me dictates that I should collect toys from my childhood, so I have a HUGE pile of My Little Ponies (almost 1000 in all), Pedigree Sindy dolls and Care Bears. I love to read, and I'm a frustrated writer, in that I start off with a bright idea, haul it along for about ten chapters, and then junk it ;D I was an angsty teenage poet, and actually have had a few poems published *bighead* I'm arty, but not in a big flamboyant artist way - I do crafty stuff mostly, making badges, greeting cards, and I use Fimo polymer clay to make tiny figurines. Right now I'm still trying to knit a hat - the trouble I'm having is with finding an affordable poly head-shaped base to shape the hat onto, but one day I'll get it finished So, feed my nosey - what do you do with your free time?

Photography. (this may have been mentioned before.... :-\) I play the ukulele (soprano and baritone, but mostly the bari.), bass guitar and double bass (when I have a dbl bass to play ) I have taken to reading again, quite vigorously. Currently working my way through Stephen Fry's entire published repertoire. And the internet. Because I am a nerd, at heart.

I like taking photos too, playing in Photoshop and learning all about its bits, teaching myself how to use new bits of computer software (yes I am a geek) I also collect mugs and glasses. The mugs mainly have chocolate bar names on them and names of biscuits/cereals, I started doing that when I was a child, just because I loved the way they looked and have been doing it ever since, I am always on the look out for new ones. The oned that are made now aren't as good a quality and the ones from my childhood though, that is a sad thing. The glasses have Coca Cola designs on them, I started collecting them when I was a kid too. I have lots now, haven't counted, but there are 2 very large boxes in the bottom of the wardrobe of my room full of mugs and glasses. Doesn't stop you collecting though! Classic comedy too is a passion of mine. What's life without a bloody good laugh! And it goes without saying that TG and all the guys offerings are something to improve ones life too.

Lonesome - How does one go about breeding snails? I love snails, they are cute with their little feelery things on their heads. Well in my case, I just left them too it. Came home from work one day and found some eggs {well lots of eggs}, then it is just a case of fishing all the eggs out of the main tank and into a smaller one so that they don't get squished by the other snails, covering in compost and waiting for them to hatch. Oh, btw, these are gaint african land snails. ;D

Will the new two be OK with them?

I. like crafty stuff - painting in watercolours, taking zillions of photos ( just to make sure i get 1 good one ) trying to grow stuff in my garden that isnt a weed ( tatties - I'm growing tatties. I was growing runner beans but the slugs and snails ate the plants before they could give me beans). Dressmaking, knitting. Anything I can do myself to save a bob or two

My hobby- is drawing and being creative really- photography, and making things, I make aprons and make my own jewelry out of bits and bobs, like old keys and pocket watches. I like collecting things, and sniffing around antique shops although I can never afford anything. I collect Alice in Wonderland things such as books, my favourite being a first edition copy of the Nursey Alice, from the late 1800's. I also collect 'gollywog' dolls (not sure if Im allowed to say that word though >_<), and various bis and bobs You all seem like wonderful arty and interesting people

When it comes to hobbies, I go wherever the muse takes me. Sometimes that means I have another attempt at learning piano (something I've been attempting for over 20 years with very limited success), or playing my guitar or one of my recorders. Occasionally I paint, but I am very lacking in talent and only like finger painting. I am good at sewing though, and I love designing costumes. In fact, I have material for creating a costume based on the Rolls-Royce Spirit of Ecstacy and I might get around to doing that some time soon. I also enjoy soft sculpting, and I'm planning to bring the costume and sculpting together by designing a Paradise in Plasticine inspired hat. I have the Fimo... now I just need to find a gutter-crown hat!

I have an annual late June hobby of trying to find ways of using a ridiculous amount of strawberries in the space of 2 weeks. This has been forced on my by the strawberry plants at the bottom of the garden, that are trying to take over the World!
Does riding a motorbike count as a hobby? Not sure about that one.
I often find myself digging holes to see if there's anything old and interesting in them (aka archaeology) and sometimes walking around with a machine that goes "beep" (geophysical surveying) beforehand so we know where to dig. At least, that's the theory.
Going to see bands play. Various, but I prefer small venues where you get to talk to the people in the band, not huge places where they are just dots in the distance.
Cardboard cut-out models, mainly of historic buildings. They have to be bought from a relevant place (a castle from a castle gift shop etc) but I seem to have acquired some of amphibious vehicles recently ;D
I also collect mugs. Any mugs, so long as they are normal mug shape and have something interesting on them. I probably have over 200. I need a new shelf. Maybe I should take up carpentry! No, hold on, I already did that a few years ago when I needed some more book cases!
And whatever I end up doing, I take photos of it. Usually far too many!

Yay! Another mug person! I mean that in a nice way though. I have a few others too, one has a Love Bug Beetle car on it.
I also collect skulls and skellies. I love them always have done since I was a kid, they just look fab and cute and gorgeous. I nearly had a real one once, a big ram skull, but my mates mum wouldn't let me take it home. I was only about 5 when I saw it on a beach that we were at and it was perfect, had been bleached by the sun, had it's huge horns still attached, it even had it's bottom jaw still attached including all its teeth. I will never forget what that looked like. I thought it was lovely.

Mine are birdwatching, birdwatching and birdwatching. When I'm not birdwatching I collect mugs with birds on, read birdwatching magazines and books about birds. I have my own binoculars and telescope and in the three years I've been a birder, I've seen 175 different species of bird and have attracted 28 species to my garden. I'm a member of the RSPB, the British Trust for Ornithology, the World Owl Trust, the Lincolnshire Bird Club and my local branch of the RSPB. I have met Bill Oddie twice, Simon King (Springwatch) three times and I've also met Chris Packham, Nick Baker, Jonathan Scott (Big Cat Diary) and Mike Dilger (The One Show). I go birdwatching at least three times a week.

She used to be a biometric statistician, which meant she would count birds and was involved in the international bird banding scheme. My hobbies are...cats, food, wine and attemping to play the guitar.

Writing is my passion, though like Daisy,I get a bright idea, write a few chapters and bin it. UM I love classic comedy too,I collect Spike Milligan and Kenneth Williams stuff. Reading, I'll read anything, though I'm getting more and more into poetry and the classic stuff at the minute. For the past few months I've been a bit obsessed with collecting Bob Dylans music from here there and everywhere, must remember to tell dad I've liberated some of his albums *coughs*
