I am really craving coconut chicken, but could not find my recipe at all. And my semi-photographic memory did not fail me, as I did post it here many many months ago. I love this place. Although this is sadly where my pho recipe is too, since I had to take that book back to the library. I should really print these out and stick them someplace where I won't lose them.

Coffee cravings must always be listened to and acted upon! ;D I'll be heading out in a couple hours on a mocha run! Perhaps the kind people at the cafe will also have done something wondrous with croissants. ;D

We had some mocha when we came in from our walk in the forest but it was hot, not cold!
Thanks, DMC, you've just reminded me there are some croissants in the freezer ;D

You're quite welcome, mayfayre. ;D I'm hoping that there will be croissants with Belgian chocolate nestled inside when I get to our local cafe. Yum!! ;D ;D

Finger of Fudge yoghurt. I wanted toffee yougurt but the local shop didn't have any, so I got some plain yoghurt and 2 Finger of Fudge bars, then melted them into the yoghurt & left it in the fridge to cool.
It's lovely!

Just test-drove my new French cookbook.
Beef filets with bearnaise sauce, oven roasted potatoes, and waterless cooked carrots.
MOH and I are in food heaven.

Yummy! What cookbook do you have?
A regional grocery chain opened a new store near me a few months ago. Some genius decided to forgo stocking any French wines but instead to have a large display of local wines. For the uninitiated, just allow me to say that there's a reason that New England is not the wine capital of the world. Never, ever, ever spend any money on a Viognier from New Hampshire. Tastes like liquid straw. Blech.

Tastes like liquid straw. Blech. An old one from the late 80's. I got it used at a local bookstore. And yeah, Wisconsin has some truly fantastic beer(I think Oregon's the only state that has more microbreweries than us) that you can't find anywhere else. Most of the local wine I've tried is RUBBISH. There's a rose wine I love and the blackberry wine is all right if that's your thing(way too sweet for me) but yeah...if you like wine, you're probably not drinking the local WI wines. I ended up with a bottle of local chardonnay somehow. Normally I like chardonnay. That bottle was used as cooking wine.

So I had dinner last night.... We ate carrots, potatoes, veggie meat and custard with Smacks... And then, after a couple of hours, my brother and I had dinner again.... ;D ;D ;D And then I decided I wasn't going to eat everyting, so I put it in the fridge.... to eat it another day.... which is today..... I had lunch at noon -bread etc- and decided I'd have the rest of my Chinese a couple of hours later. So I ate most of what's on my plate yesterday, put the rest back and that's seen with Atjar and Crupuk that I added later on the second pic. Yea, I like food. ;D

My attempt to"expand my horizons" by trying different wines is definitely not going well. Tonight's experiment is Ken Forrester's Petit Chenin Blanc from South Africa. Better than the New England bottle but I wouldn't buy it again ($12, I think).
Anybody got any new recs for a medium-dryish, not sweet, not chardonnay, white?

I do drink that sometimes, usually from one of the American wineries just because that's what is most available here. Any other recs? I really need to take a wine-tasting course...wonder if James gives private lessons?

Tried lots of California wines while in the US and I have to say I was very impressed. Also could not believe how cheap Australian wines were there. Cheaper than at home!
